Exhibit Dates: October 9 – November 5

Watercolor, Acrylic and Crayon Batik Works by Jerry Lewis, Bob Lambert and Mohsen Alashmoni.

Jerry Lewis, Bob Lambert and Mohsen Alashmoni all share two passions. They are each accomplished runners who are also artists.

Jerry and Bob are members of the Reston Runners club. They have been running together and socializing for more than 25 years. They both participate in triathlons. Bob has run 20 triathlons and Jerry has volunteered for them. They attended many of the same art classes over the past 15 years and exhibited their art at several annual RCC open art shows in Reston, where they received awards for their work. Bob has exhibited his paintings in several shows, but this is his largest.

Bob pursues his interest in watercolor and ceramics by taking classes at the Reston Community Center and participating in the shows held there: student and teacher shows, Young at Art, Art Mirrors Culture Exhibit and the holiday Gifts from the HeART.

Jerry and Mohsen met at weekend running club outings during Jerry’s business trips to Cairo, Egypt, in the early 1990s.Their friendship continued through their membership in the Maadi Running Club when Jerry resided in Cairo for three years. Since 2005, Jerry and Mohsen have run marathons in Europe with the Maadi Runners. They painted outdoors in watercolors for a week after each marathon. In 2015, they had a month-long, two-man art show at RCC Hunters Woods called, "Side By Side in Europe" that featured their en plein air paintings from Rome, Paris, Copenhagen, Marseilles, Vienna, Prague and other cities.

Mohsen lives in Cairo and has his own company. He also loves running like Jerry and Bob. He started Maadi Runners in 1999, and it’s still going strong. For 20 years it has offered a loving platform for Egyptian and expatriates to train, socialize and travel to marathons together.
